everthing i create is out of love and purpose. love of creating and the purpose of spreading love and goodwill.

to celebrate my grand re-opening and new beginnings i will be offering a sale on all things bought through the end of the month on both my etsy shop and my own shop. i'm also going to try and add new things to the quejimenez brand...and offer more "thank-yous" to my wonderful customers by way of discounts, give-aways, etc. read on to find out more:

the traveler bags are here!!!

meet the newest editions to the quejimenez family!

the traveler and mini traveler bags.

these bags are perfect for people on the go, with stuff to carry...and want to do it stylishly. whether books, laptop or net-book, knitting tools, painting tools, writing tools...or baby gear. these bags are perfect!

i'm absolutely in love with the design. clean, simple...yet a little something extra.

they both feature a double buckle closure that loops around the bag in a series of slots...ending in the front. they also have a large shoulder strap that can be riveted permanently (like whats pictured on the mini traveler) on, or a removable large strap that also loops around the entire width of the bag, ending on the right or left side. on top they have a handy strap to carry the bag by hand, attache style.

 *since it for me i choose to do quirky dull finish buckles...a little something imperfect.*

currently, the mini bag has one inside hanging pockets that are split in two. this feature can be added to the large traveler bag, with some minor design changes (the flap would be sewn on instead of one continuous piece like what's seen in the back of the mini traveler).

 *i just love the back*

did you notice the new finish? well, that's a trick question because technically the finish is really just the natural color of the leather. i love organic things, and watching things evolve over time, leather, particularly hide leather does this beautifully. i thought it would be a natural (pun intended) and wonderful addition to the line up to offer this in the shop. rest assured, though the leather will "tan" and age, it still has a water-resistant finish on top to protect it. (its just clear). i also will be able to sell a leather polisher should anyone want or need one to keep the bag in good condition. it too is natural, will shine, buff, and restore any leather that's gotten a little too aged or unruly - it also adds a water-resistant finish.

i am absolutely smitten with these bags. they are a wonderful addition to any handbag arsenal...and surely add a lot of usage. i attended an all day workshop this past saturday, and proudly carried the mini traveler (which yes i designed for myself)...it was my dream bag, i had my kindle, ipod, iphone, pens, notebooks, a few paperback books, and my beautiful new wallet all together, handy and organized.

spring beginnings!

after some time spent growing, thinking, rebuilding and continued healing, its finally time for me to return to purposeful work. 

as some of you may know, this past winter proved to be truly a "winter" in my life. in nature winter is the season for things to hibernate, return to the earth or die, the coldest season in nature, and oft times the most difficult to endure.

with the passing of my grandmother this winter, i truly learned this season of life...mimicked in nature.

the beauty in winter, is that the dying or the returning to the earth process is what makes way for spring, new growth, and life.

nature, gardens serve as a perfect scholar of life. gardening provides us with quite a violent, beautiful and natural observation of life. we are allowed to witness the process of life, growth, and death quite intimately.

i speak of gardening because during my time of mourning, this became my refuge, my teacher, my escape and my gateway to healing & understanding, and finally acceptance.

with the coming of spring, as in the beginning of life we understand life and purpose. we move forward with intention, we are filled with inspiration, awakening and vision.

there is no greater truth for me today, moving further.

my truth in creating for quejimenez...is deepened, my purpose clearer...and the intention of my heart is pure.

my grandmother was a woman who loved beautiful things, a lover of "pocketbooks;" she was a woman of reverence, with wise words to hand out effortlessly. she was an independent woman with courage and softness, traditional yet present and truly authentic. she was full of spirit and depth. nature...she was like nature.

 

 i create for women like her, the me that has been colored by her. these are the women that inspire me, drive me and push me further to create.

these women are my audience, my teachers, my friends and sisters...

this is where quejimenez is born. 

for women like georgia.

so as much as this is for her, for me, it is also for you.
