ultra sneak view

i promised i'd give a sneak view of what i got going for the bags. and i also promised an art-related post also...so...here it is..a sneak view and of some "art" in progress.

the first block i cut that i am satisfied with. this is a goddess blooming from a lotus...as you see lots of practicing...the lighter ones where the first ones...there is definitely a learning curve to printing!

here you can see the detail..even though it hasn't been printing with as much.

the print of the chrysanthemum that i painstakingly drew, carved, printed and then hated. it was my first lino cut...maybe that's why i hated it...again you can see my progress from right to left of the first print i made to the last in that printing session...i know short session...i didn't like the design enough to do more prints.

i wanted to be able to give you a better idea of how the bags are coming along, but to be honest with you the pictures that i've taken of the few prints i've done aren't really that great. maybe because its night, and i'm tired....and had to go back to the dentist tonight with two kids...in the rain (one sleep)...or that i'm just hard on myself...i dunno, but either way continue to have patience with me and i will continue to give you some in progress shots. plus, i think they will come to live once i get them under the sewing machine...and get my quilting on.

on another happy note...my princess is turning 5 in 2 hours and 10 minutes. in light of that, i will probably not be blogging much the next couple of days. we planned to go back to disneyland tomorrow, but despite what toni tone tony says, it does rain in southern california...and apparently on the little ones birthday. so instead we will be taking a trip to the american girl store....and have a party a nana's house friday night. what's on the menu?

• breakfast- biscuits w/ "butter"(homemade)

• lunch- biscuits w/ "butter" (homemade)

• snacks- biscuits w/ "butter" (homemade)

• dinner- pancakes (homemade) and whatever else the other kids want with them

• desert- hello kitty cake (2 layer...chocolate and vanilla with chocolate and vanilla icing) (homemade also of course)

i told her it was her special day, and that she could have what ever she wanted to eat for breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, and desert....(i know why would i say that?....because tears were forming in her eyes when i told her that we may not be able to go to "the happiest place on earth")...i don't know if she will get all of what she wants...but i know breakfast, dinner and desert should be fine...we'll have to sneak something healthy into lunch and snacks...or maybe breakfast and dinner. who knows.

anyway...i'll take my camera and be sure to have take pictures...

okay, i'm off to google pictures of hello kitty...so i can make this cake a reality in the morning...
