"piece-full"
so i haven't been much of a blogger lately...sorry about that...but oh i've been quite the busy "piece-full" bee.
last week
i did a bit of baking (muffins were my fix last week...i have a recipe to share) but mostly i was quite busy working on this quilt i started...hmmm...two weeks ago.
and...
i worked on my (late) printing assignment for class on saturday...and on the free kids activity i planned and did for the metropolitan museum...of course it was a quilting activity. and it was a big hit! about 150 mothers will be receiving "quilt" cards for mother's day sunday. and i'm guessing that 150 kids have been busy coloring the quilt block coloring pages i made for them (they were soo cool).
for some reason...i decided to leave my camera at home this weekend..so i have no pictures of saturday's class, where the highlight of the day was one student peircing another students ears (4 x's) with what looked like a nail and a half of an apple...yeah it was bloody crazy. and i also have no pictures of all the wonderful kids who came to my "first sundays" activity with the metropolitan museum sunday. not that i had the time to take pictures, as those kids worked me.
but!
i got pictures of my quilting progress!!!

my blocks...at this time only two were actually sewed...but i wanted to get a feel for how the colors were coming along

of course i have to "break the pattern" not sure if i will do many, if any of these...well maybe one.

look at all the triangles i cut...
let me do the math:
80 blocks x 6 triangles per block = 480 triangles
doesn't sound like a lot until you consider that they were all cut individually with a template...no double layers here...not with a template.
but i am happy to report that i am chugging along...and that i got about 22/24 blocks sewn...that's a quarter of the way done...maybe they will all be done by the end of this week...that's provided i don't bake like a maniac...
but then again... there is a new toy in my craft'hood....
...piece-full...
paz,
ki

man, that's a lot of little pieces you cut out! It is going to be amazing when it is all together. Wow.
Enjoy your new drawing tool! Fun stuff.
